Social Media UseNowadays, they see these channels as great means of conversing with a global audience and promoting their businesses.

2. Create interesting albums

One way to attract fans is to entice them with entertaining and fascinating photos. Of course, these should stay relevant to your niche. Also Read: Some Interesting Facts about Facebook Photos

3. Advertise subtly

Social networking sites generally start conversations. Therefore, you must not see these as your major marketing mediums. This means that you need to steer clear from giving in-your-face promotions through call to actions on your posts.

4. Use Keywords

Put your targeted terms in strategic places such as the “About” section or business description in your profile. You can also integrate these in your Wall updates, short messages (whenever you embed a video), or image captions.

5. Be consistent

Avoid changing your profile picture and display name constantly; otherwise, your fans will have a hard time recognising your brand.

6. Aim for fans

Invite people to Like your Fan page or become a Fan so you will have an extensive audience for your campaigns.

7. Come up with posts about current events and issues

Tackle the hottest and trendiest topics in your niche. However, avoid those issues that may be damaging to your company or to your competitors. Remember, your main goal in doing this trick is to create a buzz and not controversy.

8. Ask questions

Obtain feedback or comments from your fans using the feature “Ask a Question. This way, you can get useful suggestions regarding the improvement of your products and services.

Twitter

9. Balance your number of tweets

Twitter

Tweeting is not as easy as writing messages every time you feel like telling your followers what you are doing. It actually requires careful planning and strategizing especially if you have a business profile.

With that said, you have to avoid being overly noisy or stagnant. As a rule of thumb, three compelling tweets (excluding replies or retweets) per day will suffice.

10. Follow back

As long as the person is not suspicious, why not add him or her to your network.

11. Post links to your site

Add your tweets with a link that directs your followers to an important webpage or blog article. And since Twitter only allows 140-character messages and some links are lengthy, you can shorten the latter using URL shorteners (e.g. goo.gl tinyurl.com).

12. Upload interesting images

If you want your followers to take a second look at your tweets, include photos that are relevant to your enterprise.

13. Converse with “famous” people in your industry

Follow “reputable” individuals in your particular field and interact with them. By doing so, you can widen your connections and, hopefully, become a credible figure on the Web too.

14. Retweet

If you find some tweets interesting, entertaining, or useful, do not hesitate to Retweet them. It does not cost anything. On the contrary, it helps you gain more followers.

15. Interact

Reply to your followers if they send you messages. You should communicate with your potential customers and be accessible to them at the same time.

Pinterest

16. Post photos from your online pinboard to your blog

Pinterest

This social media platform is mostly about creative images. So if you want to add your website a personal touch, never go without this strategy.

17. Follow notable Pinners in your niche

Much like the other networking sites, take time to interact with reputable members in your field.

18. Pin videos

Other than pictures, you can also post videos on your pinboard.

19. Stir interest via competition

Follow the steps of other marketers by holding a contest for your followers. This is a great way to encourage engagement among your target users as well as promote your brand.

Many online consumers hate persuasive adverts. So if you use social media to market your goods or services, engage in conversation rather than direct promotion.

3 Poorly Used Social Media Avenues For Improving Your Blog

As soon as you hear the phrase ‘social media‘ or ‘social network’ the first thing that comes to your mind is most probably Facebook or Twitter, or both. I have seen many bloggers who effectively use social media to promote their blogs. However there are few other social media avenues which are scarcely used. This post is all about those social media avenues that are under rated.

Social Media Avenues and related mistakes

First and foremost, people need to change their perception about social media. More than two-thirds of the bloggers consider that social media is only for promoting the blog however, this perception is so untrue.

The remaining one-third bloggers are the ones who utilize social media for more than just promoting and interestingly these one-thirds bloggers happen to be successful and ace bloggers. With these facts one thing is sure – if you use social media avenues for more than just blogging then your success rate may increase strikingly.

What are the social media avenues that benefit you? It depends on your need but in this post I have selected the 3 most underrated social media that are useful to all bloggers.

Delicious:

A few of you might not even know that this social media avenue exists however, on the contrary, many of you might be hard-core users. Whatever may be the case, I feel not many are using this social media effectively.

Delicious is too good in providing statistics, infographics and quotes. Many people will trust your blog only if you write some trustworthy statistics. I have seen comment pages of many blogs filled with comments like ‘Can u prove this?’ ,’How do you know?’,’Can u give precise details?’. Well to avoid such comments and also to improve your blogs you have to definitely go in for statistics. In such a case, Delicious gives the kick start you need about statistics.

Same way infographics are really interesting and tempts the users to like your blog and even share it. This is most useful when you are about to compare and contrast two things but you lack resource about it.

Quotes on the other hand are the top grosser. All you got to do is type the keywords or event name and you will be flooded with the quotes that were quoted in that event or by that person.

Plancast:

This is another social media albeit am not a hard-core user of this; I use this to keep track of events and its attendees. Similar to facebook events here too you can find the event and know about who is attending. This is very accurate and easy to search. All you got to do is type the event name or event topic and you will be listed with relevant results.

LinkedIn:

At least, this social media is not as underrated as the above two. The major usage of LinkedIn (according to me) is Experts’ opinion. We can be “Jack of all” but the King is always one. If you are about to blog about something which is too complex or too much involved in some field then you will obviously expect an expert to advice or aid you.

This is where LinkedIn comes into play. Unlike other social media wherein bots generate the event list or statistics, here you can interact with humans and get their expertise.

Hope you will be benefited in deploying the above quoted social media avenues. Do you use the above three for even more purposes? Or do you think there are other social media that are poorly used? Share them through comments.

[How to] invite all your friends to Facebook Page or Group?

When I started the Facebook Page for Technolism, I wanted to invite all my friends to the page but unfortunately, Facebook does not provide the option to invite all the people in your friend list in one go which means you have to select your friends one by one and then invite all of them. This may lead to two things, either you do this time consuming process or end up not inviting your friends at all.

But, I did not want to do this for all my 500+ friends one by one by clicking some 500 times and also I did not want to end up not inviting them as Facebook can prove to be a major traffic driver for a blog. So, I turned to Google and came to know of a simple way to do this easily using a simple 3 step process. I thought of sharing the same here.

Go to the Facebook Fan Page to which you want to invite all your friends and follow the below 3 Simple step to send the invite in one go.

image

Step 1.

Click on the “Suggest to Friends” link displayed in the left section as shown in the image above.

This will open the below window:

image Step 2:

Now go to the address bar of you browser (where you enter the website address like www.google.com). Copy one of the below scripts and paste in the address bar and Hit Enter.

Script 1: This script selects all of  your friends; irrespective of whether they have already joined that page or not.

javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

image

Script 2: This script selects only those friends of yours who have not already joined that particular Fan page, group or event.

javascript:fs.select_all();

image

On pressing enter, you will see that all your friends get selected. Please note that this may take some time depending upon the number friends in your list which may stop your browser to respond for some seconds. No need to worry. The script is doing its work and selecting all your friends for you.

image Step 3:

Click on the “Send Invitations” Button and you are done.

You can use the same process to invite all your friends for a Group or event. So, go on try one of these scripts to invite all your friends to the Technolism Facebook Fan Page now. 🙂

I hope that this tutorial helps you in making the most out of facebook. Do you follow some other technique to invite friends to facebook? Do share with us in the comments section below. In the meantime you would like to subscribe to our email updates.
