Rent-a-phone is a new service provided just for the people who are really interested in exploring new mobile phones and unable to do so just because of the cost associated with changing the phones (survey suggests that a phone cost depreciate at the rate of 50% a year).

The website we are talking about here, Rent-a-phone charges the rent on a daily basis with the minimum rates starting from a minimal Rs.10.80 for a Sony Ericsson W350 and goes as high as Rs.61 a day for a Nokia N96. You have an option to carry a Blackberry phone for some Rs. 21 a day

The minimum time for which you can take the phone is 100 days and the maximum is 365 days. They also provide a facility to swap the phone between the agreement period by charging according to the phone you are taking later on.

Some of the latest phones that are available with them are HTC Aria, Samsung OMNIA 7, Blackberry Torch.

They also provide various facilities that will help you to protect yourself in case of Theft/loss of phone that you rented, that is by Emergency card, which gives a very effective standby facility against your lost, damage or under repair handset and it produces a temporary standby unit for your personal day to day usage.

So, if you are really a mobile phone freak and unable to buy a new phone every time just take it on rent. I am eagerly waiting for the website to introduce the Apple iPhone. I would literally be the first one to try the service 🙂
