Hostgator acquisition is undoubtedly big news for webmasters as it is one of the most used and admired web hosting companies.
The entire web-hosting forums are discussing this news and moreover, everyone is thinking about the precautionary measures to be taken after this acquisition.
Well, the only thing we all can do is to take frequent backup of our websites because the data now will be migrated to a new data center which may result in some of our data loss.

I agree…!! But for a newbie blogger, DreamHost is also a good deal..
They are not migrating their servers anywhere. They’re still at softlayer and no plans to change in the immediate future.
I have used GoDaddy and it worked fine for me. But since you guys are vouching for Hostgator and Blogger, I guess I will have to give them a shot in future.

@Shiwangi : Its a nice article but I dont think that bluehost will be the alternative for hostgator. Bluehost is already acquired by EIG and according to EIG’s acquisition history, the companies like JustHost could not perform well after acquisition. The reason behind it is EIG do not continue with current staff who worked hard to bring that company at top in world. Dreamhost and Godaddy will be good alternative and one can think about BigRock as well.
