Facebook Messenger App For iPad, Screenshots Leaked – Might Feature Skype Video Calling Feature

Facebook Messenger for iPad Leaked imagesFacebook Messenger app for iPhone hit the web somewhere around January 2012 and since then, the iPad users are waiting for the app to be released for them. I just received the screenshots of the much awaited Facebook Messenger for iPad, so thought of sharing it with my Technolism viewers. The messenger app is presently supposed to be in Beta and is reportedly a larger version of the iPhone app. However, the launch date of the app is not yet announced; I will let you guys know as soon as I get the date.

Facebook however, has the messenger app focused just for the Smartphone but the company has developed a new version especially for the Apple iPad. This version of FaceBook Messenger includes group chatting, one-to-one messaging and push notifications. The user can also check out the friend’s locations through the map using this app.

Facebook Messenger App for iPad

Facebook seems to be working dedicatedly for the entire Apple iOS operated devices. Creating the larger version for iPad app after the iPhone app is the proof. This will definitely be proved as a simple application for the iPad users providing the expediency of messaging their friends. So get ready to kick off the Facebook app and to use this amazing messenger app especially designed for the Apple iPad.

While it is unknown whether the new iPad app will have Skype calling or not, one of the screenshots released shows notifications for a “missed call” besides the Facebook video call symbol. I can’t imagine Facebook would leave such a feature out of their new tablet app, so expect to be Facebook Skyping on a iPad sometime this fall.

Skype call Notification on Facebook iPad Messenger App

Speculations say that Facebook is also working on releasing the updated version of iPhone app supporting the Skype video chat with a better chat performance. A new and updated Facebook Messenger app for Android is also likely to be released soon with a new functionality. The Facebook Messenger for Android operated devices is supposed to boast some trendy implementations.

If I am not wrong, the video chat for facebook messenger is being rumoured since last year but my resources say that it would definitely be released with this new iPad app. I wish this new iPad app also have the Skype calling feature, it would be a great flair if Facebook do so.

Facebook Messenger

All of these apps are lined-up to be released this summer. Company’s internal servers are working on the tests and trials of the apps and I got the news from some reliable sources that the messenger is working smoothly for now and will soon be scheduled to release.

Are you looking forward to these features in facebook apps for your devices?

iPad 2 Priced at $499, starts shipping in US from March 11

As we expected the next version of the iPad to be announced at the March 2 Apple event, Steve Jobs today revealed the iPad 2 at the San Francisco Media Event.

We covered the features of the iPad 2 already. Amazing product. Faster, lighter, thinner. Cameras and gyro. iOS 4.3 and FaceTime. iMovie and GaragrBand. 3G on AT&T and Verizon. Same battery life. Same prices. Black and white. Smart Covers. This is what summarises the iPad 2. 😉

The best part which comes along with the iPad 2 new features is the pricing. The price is not changed and remains the same as its predecessor, iPad 1. Same is with the battery power also.

Below are the pricing details for the iPad 2:

  • iPad 2 Wifi model: 16GB- $499, 32GB- $599, 64GB- $699
  • iPad 2 Wi-fi+3G model: 16GB- $629, 32GB- $729, 64GB- $829

Now, the interesting part is the actual date when it comes available to the users, the shipping date. Surprisingly, the shipping date is not delayed at all and Apple will start shipping from March 11 in the US. Generally, it is a few months after it is revealed in such an Apple event.

It will start shipping in 26 other countries from March 25th. The 26 countries are:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Jungary, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and U.K.

As expected, India is not in the list of these 26 countries and we will have to wait a bit longer when it is officially launched in India. If you are interested in iPad 2, you will have to import it or buy it from eBay 🙂

I am loving the new features of this mighty device and interested in buying the 32 GB 3G+Wi Fi version. As I am currently in the UK, I am looking forward to having a hands-on when it is officially launched here on the 25th March 😉 Which one is your favourite 🙂

Today we’re going to introduce iPad 2.”

iPad 2 launch finally

“What is iPad 2. What have we learned? It is an all new design. It’s a completely new design. And it’s dramatically faster. We have a new chip we call A5.” Listing down the feature of the mighty device, Steve quoted 2011 as the “Year of iPad 2”

What to expect from March 2 Apple event (iPad 2 Release)?

By now, most of you tech fans may already know that Apple has called for its official event on March 02 in San Fransisco. This invite has put an end to one set of rumours and given rise to an entirely new set. This announcement from Apple has ignited a lot of speculation around the launch of iPad 2.

Apple-announces-iPad-2-event-for-March-2

As you can see above, in the press  invitations that the Cupertino tech giant sent out features an iCal which shows March 2 as the date and the words “Come see what 2011 will be the year of.” The iCal date is peeled on the top right corner to reveal an iPad. The invite alone more or less confirms that Apple will announce the iPad 2 next week.

Now, if you see the double meaning that this date itself has; the date is 02 March, experts say that iPad 2 will have 2 cameras, it is said to have a dual core processor, it will support 2 networks (GSM and CDMA), RAM is double than iPad 1. So many 2’s there 😉

There is so much speculation going around about the expectations we can have from March 02. I am strongly in the squad who feel that Apple is going to reveal the iPad on March 02 and in this article, it is my turn to speculate on what you can expect on the March 02 and from the iPad 2. 😉

#1 Two Cameras (Front and Rear facing)

Since the first version of this mighty device was launched by Apple, people have been speculating about the iPad to have a camera. Experts say that iPad 2 will in fact have two cameras, front and rear facing with 5 and 2 Megapixels respectively to support FaceTime video calling.

#2 Better display (maybe Retina Display)

The Apple iPad 2 is expected to sport a “super high resolution”. which is expected to be 2048 by 1536 (as compared to 1024 by 768 for iPad 1) There is a lot of speculation going on around this discussion by the experts that iPad 2 will have a Retina display like iPhone and iPod touch. While, on the other hand, some say that display upgrade is not going to be a part of this release.

#3 Faster processor and RAM

Apple iPad 2 is expected to have a faster processor Cortex A5, which is equivalent of dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor.

The next generation iPad is expected to have a bump in RAM also. The iPad 2 will have 512MB DRAM which is double the iPad (256MB DRAM)

#4 A New OS?

As per the claims from Engadget, Apple may even announce the next version of their Operating system iOS 5.0 (or, whatever they call it)

#5 iPad will get more Sexy (Atleast, I hope so ;))

iPad 2 is speculated to be slightly smaller and slightly thinner than its previous version. With enhanced display (if it gets that ;)), double the processor power, double the RAM, and video calling feature, iPad 2 is surely gonna be more sexy compared to its predecessor.

If its true that Apple is going to make the iPad 2 announcement on March 2, then they have really proved smart (well, they are!). Apple has strategically timed the launch date as Motorola Xoom tablet went on sale last Thursday. Considering this fact, imagine how many people must have put aside the thought of buying it just to see what Apple has to reveals on March 2.

Whatever it is that Apple has up its sleeve for the iPad 2, we will have to wait for another 2 days to see the actual revelations for March 2.

What do you expect from the Apple event on March 02 or the Apple iPad 2 launch, if we may call it 🙂

Apple official event on March 2: Is it for the iPad 2 announcement?

Yesterday only, we updated you on the possible delay in the iPad 2 launch by Apple from April to June 2011. Already, there is a lot of speculation going on regarding the launch of Apple iPad 2 with many blogs trying to guess the features of the next level of this mighty device while others are busy in guessing the D-day when Apple officially reveals the iPad 2.

New Apple iPad 2 launch

Apple is holding an event in San Fransisco on March 02, which, many feel that Apple is doing so to reveal the next generation of the extremely successful iPad. Kara Swisher from All Things D has mentioned that “multiple sources” say the iPad 2 will be announced and demoed at this Apple event.

Analysts are expecting the iPad 2 to be thinner than its predecessor and sport a front-facing camera, like in iPhone and iPod touch, along with Facetime video chat support with an improved display. Many reports suggest that it will be powered by one of Qualcomm’s multimode chips and will run on both GSM and CDMA-based networks around the world.

With so many competitors in the market (mainly Android based), is it that Apple wants to launch its revolutionary iPad as soon as possible, we will have to wait for March 02 to know the real reason behind this event 😉
